REINVENT’s Lars J Nilsson and Detlef van Vuuren are attending the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) meeting in Edinburgh this week, 1-5 April 2019, hosted by the Scottish Government . For this meeting more than 180 authors from more than 65 countries are coming together to launch their work on the Working Group III contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report. They have started preparing a first draft of the report, which is due to be finalised in July 2021.

Lars is the coordinating lead author of Chapter 11, devoted to industry, together with Igor Bashmakov. Detlef is involved in Chapter 3, devoted to mitigation pathways compatible with long-term goals.
